After I completed the swarm insects for Killswarm, I went ahead to design the possible heads for the villain. The idea is that the head is supposed to reproduce the alien swarm insects so the swarm body will continue to grow. I used Adobe Photoshop to build these designs based on what possible shapes I could come up with.
Design 1 is just a head made entirely out of swarm insects where a queen is inside the middle reproducing more insects.
Design 2 is just a alien squid head reproducing the insects at the bottom. It’s mouth has thick strips of gum keeping the mouth from opening fully. It’s brain is capable of glowing in the dark to present itself in a dark environment in order to see through the pitch black.
Design 3 is similar to design 2, but the head has tentacles to make up it’s eye brows and hair to give itself an almost humanoid look. It’s razor sharp teeth are on the outside of its mouth to attack Dasher in battle.
Design 4 is just a head with a fog horn for a mouth. On the sides of the head are lungs used to breath the air.
Design 5 is just a squid shaped head with no mouth, but a pare of beastly eyes. I created this design to experiment if the eyes I liked would make this head design my favourite out of all the five.
If I had to choose, my favourite design would have to be number 3. In my opinion, the head looks more convincing to make Killswarm look scary enough to be a villain. The head has a look of a predator that is ready to kill it’s pray, which is what I like most about it.
