Online store research

I have been busy looking at different shopping stores online and found different ways of how there products are shown. This is all so that I can customize my store page on goodinmaginations.

Amazon

On Amazon, the products are displayed with price tags below the products and some text describing the products. However, it doesn’t give off a grand reveal when I first open Amazon. The products are displayed by a basic template with features places on the side bar on the left hand side of the screen.

Matalan

On Matalan, the online shop does have a comforting atmosphere as it presents nice imagery of there products. It also has a few links that take use to which section we want to be.

Asos

On Asos, it has one image with 2 links that takes you to the men or women sections, but that’s just it. Nothing else is being shown, aside from the social media links and different payment methods at the bottom. It doesn’t feel like the creator had put enough effort to building this online store.

But when I click on the men section, it takes me to where the men clothing products are sold. The section presents different options of what style of clothing I can pick from. After looking at the section, I’ve learned that the website doesn’t get interesting unless I take action to press for what I need to find.

Ace Comics

Ace Comics is an online store that sells comics to comic book readers. The first image is see shows a dramatic comic book page displaying a character with dark shading casting over his body. This image can spike an interest into looking further through this website. This website has me thinking about how to make my website look eye catching to the viewers.

Mega City Comics

Mega City Comics is another online comic store. As I scroll down the page, it shows which comics are the best sellers on the market. The comics that are shown have titles and price tags, but it doesn’t present the synopsis to the stories, unless I click on one and it takes me to the page where I can read the synopsis and purchase it.

After I’ve looked through these websites, I had started to customize my website to make my store page more eye catching so it can look professional to the viewers. I want to place a comic book page behind the comic store title to present how well done my art work is. I will cut out the speech bubbles so I don’t have to give to much of the story away to the viewers. Based on my research, one of the things I have to think about when presenting my comic store online is that I have to show what examples I want my viewers to see in the background.
